Four steps from request to results.

Request access

Tell us who you are, which schools you work with and what you want to build. We reply by email.

02

Get approved

We register the schools you are approved for and send you their institution IDs and a key.

03

Upload a recording

Declare an MP3 or MP4, send the file straight to a signed upload address, then start a job.

04

Get results back

We call your webhook when the job finishes, or you can check its status. Then fetch the results.

02 What you get back

Scores, rubric results and, for video, evidence.

In every result

  • Overall, clinical judgment and humanistic care scores, with a rating and a breakdown.
  • Narrative feedback, which can quote short passages.
  • The school's custom rubric result, when it has one.

For video, when the school has it on

  • Observed behaviors with time ranges, as evidence for review.
  • An optional skills check: hand hygiene, vital signs, medication administration, sterile technique or Foley catheter.
  • Skills are advisory and are never scored.

The full transcript is never returned. Each completed job is also saved as a record in the school's NurseKind AI account, where its faculty can review it.

Plain HTTPS and JSON.

You authenticate with a key tied to the schools approved for it.

04 Access and data handling

By approval, school by school.

Access is by approval, under a written agreement. A key works only for the schools approved for it, and there is no way to list schools through the API. Test keys use a sample school and return fixed example results, so you can build before you have access to real data.

Recordings are used only to produce your results and are deleted when processing finishes. Results are kept as records in the school's account under its retention rules. The AI processing vendors we use are listed on our subprocessors page.

Questions about the developer API

A school that uses NurseKind AI, or a partner that works with schools, such as a simulation or learning platform. Partners tell us which schools they work with, and each school is approved separately.
MP3 audio up to 60 MiB and 60 minutes, and MP4 video up to 1280 MiB and 40 minutes. Video is available only for schools that have it turned on.
Yes. Every job includes a confirmation that everyone in the recording has consented to it being recorded and analyzed.
Yes, you may store the results you receive. We do not send back the full transcript.
Yes. Test keys use a sample school and return fixed example results. Do not send real recordings to the sandbox.
